Grevillea hookeriana Black Flowering Form is a spectacular West Australian upright spreading shrub with lustrous dark green, deeply divided foliage with bronze/brown stems. The highlight of this native is the unusual black to deep burgundy toothbrush-style flowers that grow in clusters in winter and spring. The flower colours can vary quite a lot with some being quite dark red and others almost black. The Black Flowering grevillea is a vigorous grower often long-lived, making a great long-term screen or feature in your shrubbery. Trim back after flowering as the heads can be messy. Fertilise with blood and bone or a slow-release, native formulated fertiliser.
