The ornamental display continues with the appearance of dark blue berries from which the native tree gets its name. This hardy tree is ideal as a specimen tree, informal hedge and, with pruning, can be kept as a large shrub.

Caroline Blueberry is a Northern Highbush Blueberry - a deciduous, fruiting plant that is native to the colder areas of Canada & the United States. These varieties of blueberry plants perform well in Australia and provide a bounty of berries. Caroline is an early fruiting blueberry producing medium-sized, fragrant fruits with a beautiful sweet taste. It is a deciduous shrub with oval leaves, producing pretty bell-shaped white flowers in spring, followed by small blue-purple berries in summer. The leaves of Caroline take on attractive red-orange tones in autumn. Self-pollinating, but cross-pollination with another type with the same bloom time produces higher yields. Blueberries can produce an abundance of fruit over many months, keep them evenly watered with good drainage and use a low nitrogen fertiliser.
