Caroline Blueberry is a Northern Highbush Blueberry - a deciduous, fruiting plant that is native to the colder areas of Canada & the United States. These varieties of blueberry plants perform well in Australia and provide a bounty of berries. Caroline is an early fruiting blueberry producing medium-sized, fragrant fruits with a beautiful sweet taste. It is a deciduous shrub with oval leaves, producing pretty bell-shaped white flowers in spring, followed by small blue-purple berries in summer. The leaves of Caroline take on attractive red-orange tones in autumn. Self-pollinating, but cross-pollination with another type with the same bloom time produces higher yields. Blueberries can produce an abundance of fruit over many months, keep them evenly watered with good drainage and use a low nitrogen fertiliser.

Soil: Well-drained acidic soil.
Conditions: It grows best in a sunny but protected position with some shade from the hottest afternoon sun during summer. Approximately 750-1200 hours chilling required for proper dormancy.

Blueberry Powder Blue is a productive Rabbiteye blueberry variety known for its reliable yields and distinctive pale blue fruit with a soft, powdery bloom when fully ripe. Powder Blue is a later-season variety, often ripening its crop in late summer through to early winter, with harvests in some regions extending toward Christmas. It is also better suited to humid climates than many other blueberry types, maintaining good fruit production where other varieties may struggle. The plant is partially self-fertile, meaning it will produce a reasonable crop when grown alone. However, yields are greatly improved when planted alongside compatible Rabbiteye varieties such as ‘Brightwell’, ‘Climax’, or ‘Tifblue’, which enhance cross-pollination and fruit set.

Featuring a naturally rounded compact shape, delicate white flowers in spring, and foliage darkening to red in autumn, Northland Blueberry adds colour and interest to your edible garden for many months. This variety produces a dark fleshed fruit with a wild-berry flavour that becomes sweeter the longer it hangs on the bush. This variety is self-fertile so another plant nearby is not required, making it perfect for smaller gardens. However a higher yield will be produced if another plant is growing nearby (Blue Rose Blueberry is recommended). Northland will make a wonderful patio or verandah plant where the delicious berries can be enjoyed straight off the bush.

Soil: Requires a well-drained, acidic soil to grow well. A potting mix for Azaleas and Rhododendrons is recommended for pot culture.

Blueberry Kisses is an Australian-bred blueberry variety prized for its exceptionally large fruit and naturally dwarfing habit. Self-pollinating and low-chill, it flowers and fruits over an extended 4 to 6 month period, delivering consistently high yields throughout the season. Compact in growth, Blueberry Kisses is ideal for pots, courtyards, and small gardens. Its manageable size and long cropping window make it especially productive in limited spaces. When planted alongside varieties such as Blueberry ‘Burst’, it can help extend the overall harvest season for home growers.

Vaccinium corymbosum Biloxi Blueberry is an excellent choice for warmer climates, requiring very few chill hours to produce fruit. It is often one of the first blueberry varieties to ripen, with harvest beginning a few weeks earlier than other early-season varieties. The berries are light blue, medium-sized, firm, and sweet, making them ideal for fresh eating or use in pies, tarts, jams, and preserves. Although Biloxi produces its main crop early in the season, it can sometimes provide a smaller second harvest later on, with the first crop typically being the most abundant. This vigorous variety is both heat and disease-resistant, making it well-suited to warmer regions. For the best pollination and improved berry production, plant Biloxi alongside other southern highbush blueberry varieties like Rabbiteyes.

Originating from the famous Knott's Berry Farm in California, the superb hybrid Rubus ursinus x. idaeus Boysenberry is a complicated cross between a blackberry, loganberry, dewberry and raspberry!  It is vigorous and a prolific cropper. White flowers in early spring are followed by large firm conical dark purple blackberries. The fruit is round to oblong in shape and dark purple in colour. They have a unique flavour that combines the tartness from good old-fashioned wild blackberries with a sweet hint of raspberry. Train on wires as you would raspberries, as a fan, or even over an arch. Prune after harvesting in summer or autumn, by cutting the fruited canes down to the ground. When the new canes start growing the following spring and summer, tie them onto their supports. Self-fertile
