Citrus junos Yuzu is a small, yellow citrus fruit native to Asia -it resembles a small lemon or a yellow clementine and features uneven, bumpy skin that sets it apart from other fruits. Growing on a small, upright shrub/tree the leaves are evergreen and create a lush appearance, while the branches have sharp thorns that you’ll need to look out for! The taste of the Yuzu is quite unique - best described as a combination of lemon and mandarin orange, with a dash of lime and grapefruit. The Tahitian Lime is a popular small-spreading, evergreen tree with glossy leaves, some thorns, and fragrant creamy-white blossoms. The blossoms are followed by medium-sized, round green fruit with a thin skin and juicy, almost seedless acidic flesh. Fruit production is at its peak in late autumn to early winter in cooler climates. Ideal as a feature tree in a pot for courtyards or decks, or in smaller, Mediterranean-style gardens.

Also referred to as “wild lime” or “desert kumquat”, the Desert Lime is a hardy, occasionally thorny shrub or small tree. It produces small green grape-sized fruits that pack an intensely citrus flavour! Fruits will appear soon after a showing of white, sweetly scented flowers in spring. For best results, harvest only ripe fruits — these will come away easily from the stem when gently pulled. As an Aboriginal bush food, they were eaten whole and are today considered a highly prized native fruit high in vitamin C, lutein, folate and vitamin E. You can enjoy Desert Lime in a variety of ways including marmalades, sauces, pickles and chutneys, candied peel, cocktails, and as a flavouring spice for both sweet and savoury dishes.
Drought-resistant and attractive, it’s a perfect addition to a low-maintenance garden or ornamental courtyard, and may be grown in large pots on a sunny verandah.

The Finger lime, known as Caviar Lime, is a native Australian citrus that produces delicious and iconic edible fruits. The fruit grows in long slender shapes and is filled with small round red pearly segments that appear like caviar. The taste is an exquisite sweet lime. Finger limes will begin to drop of their own accord, usually between November and March. It’s important to wait until the fruits have matured before harvesting, as this variety will not mature once removed from the branches. The fruit is beautiful in summer drinks and desserts, chutneys, jams and marmalades. Finger limes can be planted in the ground as a beautiful specimen tree or in large pots.
Soil: Plant in composted, well-draining soil. Mulch in spring and keep the soil moist in summer.
Conditions: Will perform best in a warm sheltered spot in full sun. Tolerant of frost and dry conditions.

The foliage is a lovely rich green which holds its colour all year round. Petite white fragrant blooms appear in early autumn. Following the blooms, are small, juicy, rounded orange fruits with tight easy-to-peel skin and no seeds! The mandarin trees are not only valued for their fruit but also for their ornamental appeal. Their glossy green leaves, fragrant blossoms, and vibrant fruit can enhance the beauty of garden landscapes. Fertilise Mandarin Japanese Seedless throughout the peak growing seasons. Low water requirements through winter, however, keep the tree well-watered throughout summer.

Naturally Dwarf, Little Ruby is a compact growing shrub with deep green, rounded foliage and thorny stems. Little Ruby displays pale white-pink flowers in summer, followed by aromatic, green, finger-shaped fruits. Little Ruby will begin to ripen but not fully on the tree. Once picked, leave the fruit for five to ten days to completely ripen. Inside the fruits are filled with small pale red pearls of tangy juice, which have a wonderful texture and flavour. This fruit is great in summer drinks and desserts, and may also be used in chutneys, jams and marmalades. Both juice and pulp go well with fresh oysters, fish and calamari. As the tree has a slight weeping habit, it can be pruned to shape. Trees will begin to produce fruit from the second autumn of planting.
Soil: Plant in composted, well-draining soil. Mulch in spring and keep the soil moist in summer.
Conditions: It will do best in a warm, sheltered spot and can do well in dappled shade though will thrive in full sun. Tolerant of frost and dry conditions.
