BARE-ROOT INFORMATION AND DISCLAIMER:

To check the vitality of your bare-root stock upon receipt, you can make a gentle, small scratch in the superficial bark layer.  You will see that the sap wood is green, which means it is alive.

It is optimal to remove the bag and soak the root-ball in fresh water for 1-24 hours before planting.  Submerge the entire root-ball. Don’t leave the roots to dry out.  Use plenty of good quality soil when planting.  A premium potting mix will contain slow release fertilizer etc. to get your plant going, so is an easy option.  Mulching around the plant zone is also a great idea to keep moisture in and weeds out and staking is required until the plant roots itself into it’s new position..

While Bare-root stock is much cheaper than potted stock, it also comes with an inherent risk that buyers should keep in mind.  If you allow the root-ball to dry out at any time until the plant has established, the plant will die quickly.  Within hours.  It can take up to 6-8 months for a plant to establish, depending on the season, conditions and species planted etc.  The plant relies on you for care throughout this critical period.

While we purchase our bare-root stock pre-bagged and from the most reputable bare-root suppliers in the industry, to ensure that your stock will be moist, healthy and great quality upon delivery to you, we cannot be responsible for bare-root care after you have received it.

Any claim for refund, due to transport damage, must be made immediately upon receipt of the plant.  After that point, we will enter no discussion regarding refund. Be sure to check the condition of your plant when you receive it and let us know if there are any concerns on the day of delivery.
