Wisteria floribunda Alba, or White Japanese Wisteria, is a graceful deciduous climber admired for its long, cascading racemes of fragrant white flowers. Blooming in spring—often before the foliage appears—the pendulous clusters can reach up to 1 metre in length, creating a spectacular floral display that fills the air with a sweet, delicate scent.
As the season progresses, mid-green foliage covers the vine from spring through autumn, adding lush texture to garden structures. Perfect for pergolas, fences, walls, arches, and trellises, this vigorous and long-lived climber brings timeless elegance to any garden. Regular summer pruning helps control its growth and encourages the formation of short flowering spurs for an even more abundant display the following spring.

Trachelospermum Valley Lights Jasmine is a versatile evergreen climber and groundcover, prized for its striking variegated foliage. The glossy green leaves are beautifully splashed with golden-yellow, bringing year-round colour and brightness to the garden. During summer, clusters of fragrant, star-shaped white flowers appear, filling the air with a sweet perfume while attracting beneficial pollinators. A self-twining plant with a neat, manageable habit, Valley Lights can be grown as a colourful groundcover, clipped into a low hedge, trained over arbours, pergolas or fences, or planted in pots and hanging baskets where its foliage can spill gracefully over the edges.

Wisteria Royal Purple is the most fragrant and has the darkest purple flowers of all wisteria. In spring, abundant, weeping tresses packed with sweetly fragrant violet-purple pea-like flowers provide amazing visual and sensory appeal in the landscape. A long-lived twining vine that wraps itself around posts, trellises, rails and other structures, Royal Purple can also be trained as a single or multi-trunk tree. Correct pruning is beneficial to keep this beautiful climber under control and producing magnificent flowers year after year.

Hibbertia Golden Sunburst is a lovely, low-maintenance, native ground-cover producing masses of bright yellow flowers throughout late autumn and spring. It forms low mounds naturally without the need to constantly prune the foliage or remove dead flowers, and is beneficial to any garden as it improves the water-holding capacity of the soil as well as assisting to suppress weeds. Ideal in native and cottage gardens as well as verge planting, and perfect as a border in formal and informal gardens. A handful of slow-release fertiliser in spring is beneficial.

Soil: Golden Sunburst will do well in soils ranging from quite acid to alkaline but good soil preparation is recommended when planting all plants to achieve the best results

A vigorous grower, Hardenbergia violacea White Out is a winter-flowering favourite that will quickly cover a fence or retaining wall with its luscious emerald green leaves and delightful sprays of pure white flowers. A pretty Australian native evergreen climber or groundcover, White Out is particularly suited to large pots, covering fences, pergolas or trained on a trellis. Prune well after flowering period to promote new growth.

Pandorea Tiffany is an easy-to-grow, extremely hardy evergreen climber that brings long-lasting colour to the garden. Its lush, light green foliage provides the perfect backdrop for clusters of petite golden-apricot flowers, which appear throughout summer and autumn for months of vibrant colour. Versatile and low-maintenance, Tiffany is ideal for covering trellises, fences, pergolas and arbours. Wisteria Rosea is a hardy Japanese Wisteria that will create a beautiful focal point with lightly scented, pendulous racemes of long flowers that can grow anywhere between 50cm and 1m. The Rosea is also sometimes known as the Wisteria Honbeni. Rosea bears a riotous mass of soft pink flowers tinged with lavender in early spring and produces spectacular autumn foliage colour. This hardy wisteria is a fast grower so it’s ideal for covering pergolas or arbours and providing much-needed shade over the summer months. 

Soil: Moist and well-drained soil. This species will also tolerate clay and sandy soils.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Frost hardy and wind-tolerant.
