Dwarf Almond (Prunus dulcis syn. Prunus amygdalus) is a reliable and low-maintenance fruit tree that produces delicious almonds while remaining compact in size. Grafted onto a dwarfing rootstock, it develops an upright yet manageable growth habit, making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens, home orchards, or large pots and containers. Being self-fertile, only one tree is needed to produce a crop, although yields may improve when planted near other almond varieties. The tree forms an attractive open canopy and in spring it becomes a striking feature with masses of delicate white-pink blossoms. After flowering, it sets large, broad, paper-shelled almonds that mature in autumn. The nuts are ready to harvest when the outer hull begins to split open, revealing the shell inside. Thanks to its heavy cropping habit, ornamental spring display and compact size, dwarf almond is an excellent addition to productive backyard gardens where space may be limited.

The elegant Betula pendula is a slender deciduous tree admired for its graceful, lightly weeping form and distinctive papery bark. Its striking silvery-white trunk peels naturally over time, revealing attractive dark fissures that add texture and visual interest. Delicate branches carry small, fresh green leaves through spring and summer before turning a soft golden yellow in autumn, creating a beautiful seasonal display. Silver Birch makes a stunning feature when planted as a single specimen or grouped together for a natural woodland effect. Betula Moss White is a variation of the famous Silver Birch tree, known for its radiant white bark and elegant, drooping branches. The tree's fine, bright green foliage takes on a luminous pale yellow hue in autumn, creating a lovely softness to the tree. To showcase the stately white trunks and branching structure, consider planting it in groups or avenues. When pruning, it's important to do it in summer or autumn, and avoid pruning in winter or spring to prevent profuse 'bleeding'.
Soil: This tree thrives in moist, well-drained soil. Keep in mind that birches have shallow roots, so make sure to provide adequate watering during summer.
Conditions: The tree prefers to be planted in areas with sun to part-shade. It can tolerate short periods of wet and dry, and can withstand frost and coastal environments. However, it's important to protect it from hot winds.
