Acacia howittii, or Sticky Wattle, is a shapely small tree with a natural, gracefully arching growth habit that does not need to be trained into shape. The small dark green foliage is contrasted with fragrant, fluffy, bright yellow flowers in spring. The leaves give off a sticky substance that is aromatic on warm days but it is not good planted close to pathways as it leaves dark stains that are difficult to remove. Acacia howittii is a fast grower and will make a good thick screen and is attractive for its foliage and form. It's also a great option for bonsai enthusiasts.
Soil: It prefers to grow in moist and well-drained soil.
Conditions: Full sun to partial shade. Drought, wind and frost tolerant.
