The profusion of long-lasting waxy flowers on a spreading, dense shrub is the outstanding feature of Chamelaucium Geraldton Wax. It is one of the world’s great cut flowers- in shades of white, pink or red -and is used extensively as a backing flower in arrangements. The foliage is fragrant when crushed and is edible and have a citrus taste. It makes a wonderful feature shrub or screen plant in the garden. Give it a light trim after flowering.

Conditions: Full sun to partial shade. The plant won’t grow well in sub-tropical and tropical Australia. Light frost and drought tolerant when established.

Anigozanthos Regal Velvet is a hardy and eye-catching kangaroo paw variety valued for its dense foliage and striking flowers. The tall flower stems rise above the clump of green strap-like leaves, carrying unique blooms in a rich combination of pale green and deep ruby red. Flowering over an extended period, this Australian native adds vibrant colour and texture to gardens while attracting nectar-feeding birds, bees, and other beneficial pollinators. Regal Velvet is well suited to a wide range of garden styles, including native, coastal, and low-maintenance landscapes. Regular removal of spent flower stems will help maintain a tidy appearance and encourage further flowering.

Lomandra Crackerjack is an evergreen native grass that has become an Australian garden favourite. Soft, fine leaves with blue-hued new growth form a weeping clump and delightful small yellow flowers make an appearance in spring, and last through summer. Perfect for landscaped gardens, borders, mass planting or as a feature plant in your backyard. The plant can be cut back every second or third year in spring, 10cm above the ground, to rejuvenate the foliage. Fertilise in spring with an Australian native fertiliser.
