Grevillea Mt Tamboritha is a low-spreading evergreen shrub with dense, dark green foliage. The leaves are narrow and oblong and are arranged spiral-like on arching wiry stems. Each flower head is coloured pink-red and cream, and the blooms are densely crowded onto heads or spikes. The flowers appear primarily from late winter to spring although spot flowering can occur throughout the year. The ornamental foliage, compact form and showy flower clusters make the grevillea ideal for borders, edges, mass-planting, rockeries and embankments.

Banksia serrata, or Saw or Old Man Banksia, is a character-filled small to medium-sized tree with leathery serrated leaves and large, creamy yellow to brown flowers in summer. The flowers are followed by interesting pods, and the bark is quite lumpy - both of which helped inspire May Gibbs' Big Bad Banksia man. The plant can vary in size depending on the soil and its exposure. Banksia serrata attracts nectar-loving birds and other wildlife to the garden, and black cockatoos like feeding on the developing cones.

Hardenbergia Free n Easy is a vigorous climbing or trailing plant with glossy, mid-green, oval leaves and long sprays of white, pea flowers suffused with lavender pink, late autumn, winter, and early spring. This plant would make a great ground cover but will climb as well with a little support. Prune to shape when needed and pruning after flowering is recommended.
