It is used as a background plant in larger mixed plantings or grouped as a screen, shelter or wind-break in wider verges, and parks. As with all wattles, the acacia attracts native birds and insects. The wattle is successfully used for soil stabilisation, and it is recommended to prune after flowering.
Soil: Tolerates heavy clays to calcareous soils but requires good drainage.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Coastal, drought, salt and wind tolerant.
