Acacia iteaphylla, or Flinders Range Wattle, is a hardy ornamental shrub recommended for its form and foliage. It is used as a background plant in larger mixed plantings or grouped as a screen, shelter or wind-break in wider verges, and parks. The wattle is successfully used for soil stabilisation. As with all wattles, the acacia attracts native birds and insects. It is good at adapting: it can self-seed where it is not wanted so plant with caution if you garden near bushland. Prune after flowering.
Soil: Tolerates heavy clays to calcareous soils but requires good drainage.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Coastal, drought, salt and wind tolerant.
Size: Height 3-5m x width 3-6m
