Evergreen Plants

Also known as Eriostemon, or simply Wax Flower, Philotheca Flower Girl is an attractive small compact shrub. It has highly scented foliage and long-lasting, dainty pink-tinged, white star-shaped flowers in late winter to spring. Flower Girl has a naturally bushy habit making it ideal for hedges and borders, and regular pruning will result in more compact growth and even more flowers. The flowers are long-lasting as cut flowers to decorate the home with their colour and fragrance.

Soil: Well-drained, humus-rich soil. A little mulch around the base of the plant will keep the root system cool as well as suppress weeds.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Frost, drought and coastal tolerant.

Carpobrotus Aussie Rambler is a tough, succulent, evergreen perennial plant. It is a beautiful ground cover with extra large, showy pink flowers and forms a dense mat of sprawling foliage, making it an ideal ground cover plant. The Aussie Rambler flowers from spring to autumn. Great for rockeries, mass plantings, a sand dune stabiliser and low-maintenance gardens in inland and coastal positions. Tip prune shoots to keep plant growth dense.

Soil: Well-drained soils.
Conditions: Full sun. Coastal, salt and wind tolerant. Protect from heavy frosts.

Big, bold, and reminiscent of summer, Paradise Blush brings colour, warmth and texture to the winter garden. Masses of deep pink buds open to medium-sized, semi-double, white blooms with pink edges are displayed on an evergreen shrub from late autumn through the cooler months. Paradise Blush is perfect for screens, hedges, espaliers and large pots.

Soil: Slightly acidic, humus-rich, well-drained soil.
Conditions: Sunny and semi-shaded positions. Paradise camellias will grow Australia-wide, they are tolerant of light frosts and heat. May need some protection in extreme conditions.

Phylica Hydra is a striking evergreen shrub admired for its soft, feathery foliage in shades of lime green, silver-grey and blue-green, creating a light and airy texture in the garden year-round. From late winter through spring, elegant silver-cream flower bracts appear along the stems, adding further interest and making it highly sought after for floral work and dried arrangements. This hardy, low-maintenance shrub performs beautifully in a range of garden styles including coastal gardens, native-inspired landscapes, rockeries, borders and decorative pots. Its naturally dense habit also makes it suitable for informal low hedging or mass plantings where texture and softness are desired. The long-lasting stems retain their colour and form for many weeks, making them exceptional for fresh or dried cut flower displays.

Correa glabra has dense, small-leaf, green foliage and produces a variety of colours when flowering: white, green-white or pink and white bi-colour. The bell-shaped flowers appear throughout autumn and winter attracting birds and insects. Its upright, spreading habit makes it a popular choice for use as a low hedge and looks fantastic as an informal border or planted under trees that provide dappled sunlight.

Callistemon Purple Splendour is a relatively compact bottlebrush with an abundance of brilliant purple flower heads in spring with a follow-up flush in autumn. The new foliage is a soft pink colour - adding a colourful contrast to the more mature, grey-green foliage. Naturally open in habit, prune Purple Splendour regularly to encourage more dense growth and even more flowers. 

Soil: Adaptable to most soil types.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Tolerant of drought, frosts and coastal conditions.
