Dawsons River Weeping Bottlebrush is a rounded shrub/small tree with long pendulous branches and soft grey/green slender leaves covered in long silky hairs. In springtime, it produces masses of the brightest scarlet bottle brush flowers up to 90mm long. It will spot-flower at other times of the year, and like most callistemon, the nectar-laden flowers attract birds to your garden. The Dawsons River Weeping Bottlebrush is a vigorous grower and makes a great feature specimen, especially around ponds or other water features but can also make an excellent screen/hedge. Responds to light pruning after flowering to keep compact.
