Nandina Moon Bay is a highly decorative, hardy and compact shrub.The upright foliage displays a range of rainbow colours: from lime green to gold in the warmer months and all the way to vibrant red flushes as the weather cools. Added to the visual display is the tiny white flowers in summer, followed by bird-attracting red berries. Moon Bay is an ideal shrub for mass planting, as a low maintenance border or low hedge. Low water requirements once established in the garden.

Mandevilla enjoy a feed now and again so use either a general purpose controlled release fertiliser in spring and autumn or one of the many liquid feeds. You’ll be rewarded with denser, healthier foliage and increased flowering response. Cut back to desired shape after flowering and they will even respond to a hard cut. Best to do that before winter at the end of their flowering season.

A lovely medium-sized shrub, Leucadendron Strawberries and Cream shows off stunning pink red blooms with creamy centres during the cooler months - adding winter colour to your garden. Although Leucadendrons are drought tolerant, the soil should be kept moist in the first year until the plant is established. The flowers of the striking evergreen creeper Dipladenia Hot Pink will attract hosts of beautiful butterflies to the garden. And as this vine flowers most of the year, your landscape will be a riot of moving colour! Gorgeous grown over trellises, pergolas and balconies, or along wires as a screen, Dipladenia is a fast-growing twining vine with glossy foliage. Leave to ramble over a trellis or sunny balcony for a brilliant hot pink flowering display. Prune as required to maintain form and fertilise with a slow-release fertiliser in spring. Provide plenty of water during the summer heat.

Dampiera Southern Blue is a prostrate perennial with the brightest blue to purple-blue flowers in spring and summer, with contrasting pale centres. Southern Blue is a hardy and versatile ground cover for native gardens, rockeries, water-wise gardens, as well as potted displays. Feed with a good native fertiliser in spring.

Cornus capaitata or Evergreen Dogwood is an evergreen, rounded, low-branched tree with dense, bright green foliage. In spring, it produces bracts of creamy to lemon-yellow flowers that turn into large, juicy, scarlet fruits - attracting birds to the garden. It makes a lovely ornamental feature with a spreading habit, forming an attractive low canopy.

Soil: This species grows best in lime-free soil that is well-drained.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. It has a low tolerance of heat and humidity, so it is more suitable for cooler climates. Frost tolerant.

Chrysoceplalum ramosissimum is a fast-growing, low-spreading native perennial with masses of small, bright yellow flowers on the end of tall, soft grey-green stems from spring to late autumn. It is a very hardy plant with a slower growth pattern in the colder months. Plant as ground cover, a filler for the understorey or in tubs and baskets.
