Super-dwarf Gala apple is a deciduous tree with pinkish-white flowers in spring followed in late February by medium-sized, round, sweet, juicy apples characterised by a blush of dark pink to orange-red stripey skin. Fruit can be stored for up to six months. Some cross-pollinators are Red Delicious, Pinkabelle, Leprechaun, and Golden Delicious.

Rainforest Pearl is a cultivar in the Citrus Gems range, grafted to make the plants hardier and tolerant of frost and dry conditions. Rainforest Pearl will begin to ripen but not fully on the tree. Once picked, leave the fruit for five to ten days to completely ripen.
