It's so pretty, it almost seems impossible that Hydrangea macrophylla Mars exists! Each floret on the full mophead blooms is lushly saturated with deep pink or purple-blue, outlined by a white edge that makes it look like something out of a fairytale. The foliage is very dark green and deeply ribbed, completing the picture-perfect look. A classic choice for including in gardens and landscaping, Mars also makes a nice choice for low hedges and containers.
Soil: Well-drained, loamy soil. The soil must be alkaline to produce continuous pink flowers, and acidic to produce blue. To increase alkalinity, add garden lime.
Conditions: Hydrangeas do not like hot, direct sunlight so plant with morning sunlight and partial shade in the later parts of the day. Frost and coastal tolerant.
Size: Height 1-2m x width 0.60-1m
Festuca glauca Elijah Blue is a compact, low-growing perennial tussock grass prized for its striking powdery blue foliage. Its neat, rounded form fits easily into a range of garden settings, making it ideal for edging, rockeries and small spaces. The Dwarf Tahitian Lime is a popular small-spreading, evergreen tree with glossy leaves, some thorns, and fragrant creamy-white blossoms. The blossoms are followed by medium-sized, round green fruit with a thin skin and juicy, almost seedless acidic flesh. Fruit production is at its peak in late autumn to early winter in cooler climates. Ideal as a feature tree in a pot for courtyards or decks, or in smaller, Mediterranean-style gardens.
Soil: Soil needs to be well-watered, well-drained, and slightly acidic with no root competition. After planting your tree into the ground, we recommend reducing the foliage by a third.
Conditions: Sunny position (6-8 direct sunlight). Cold tolerant. Protect from strong winds, especially during flowering or while the fruit is forming.
Size: Height 1.5-4m x width 1-2m
