A striking North Queensland rainforest tree, Syzygium papyraceum Paperbark Satinash is admired for its glossy green foliage, attractive reddish papery bark, and large, edible purple berries. In the warmer months, it bears delicate pink to mauve brush-like flowers with a subtle citron fragrance, followed by vibrant purple fruit up to 3cm long. The Paperbark Satinash forms a dense, bushy canopy and makes an excellent shade or feature tree in larger gardens, parks, or streetscapes.
