Sambucus nigra Black Lace
$48.00
Sambucus Black Lace, commonly called Black Lace Elderberry, is a stunning ornamental shrub prized for its deeply cut, delicate, lacy foliage in rich shades of purple. In early summer, it produces spectacular, large clusters of pretty, soft-pink flowers with a lovely lemony fragrance, attracting butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the garden. These are followed by glossy, deep-black berries in autumn, adding another season of interest. A versatile and robust shrub, Black Lace Elderberry is perfect as a feature plant, in mixed garden beds or as a striking addition to cottage-style gardens. Its beautiful foliage provides wonderful colour and contrast throughout the growing season. The berries are edible when properly prepared and are rich in vitamin C. For the best fruit production, plant alongside another compatible elderberry variety such as Black Beauty or Laced Up.
