One of the smallest and latest flowering magnolias, Royal Star is a beautiful slow-growing shrub with a spreading, rounded habit. New leaves emerge with a bronze tint and turn a dark shiny green. Autumn leaf colours are yellow to copper. Royal Star is a deciduous shrub with masses of white, fragrant star-shaped flowers in early spring that burst from furry, grey buds. Flowers are fragrant and approx 10cm in width! Use as an informal hedge, for woodland planting schemes, courtyards and patios
