Banksia oblongifolia Byron Gem is a small to medium-sized shrub native to the east coast. The banksia is a very hardy and slow-growing plant producing yellow flowers in autumn and winter, surrounded with grey-green, serrated foliage. The blooms attract many native birds to the garden. Byron Gem responds well to pruning; an Australian native fertiliser is recommended when feeding.
