Banksia hookeriana Hooker's Banksia

Hooker's Banksia is one of the most attractive of the banksias and is often cultivated for its cut flowers because of their cone size, vibrant colour and long life in the vase. Acorn-shaped, orange-yellow blooms decorate the small tree from winter through to summer, rising above the thin, grey-green serrated leaves. This arresting banksia often produces over 100 flower heads per season.

Soil: Prefers poorer, sandy, well-drained soils.
Conditions: Full sun to partial shade. Wind, salt, coastal and drought tolerant.
