Azalea Hinode-giri is a vibrant evergreen shrub known for its spectacular spring display of cerise-pink funnel-shaped flowers that cover the plant in mid to late spring. The colourful blooms create a stunning contrast against its dark green, glossy foliage that has bronze tones during winter. Perfect for mixed borders, foundation plantings, or as a stunning low hedge. Regular watering is essential, particularly during the establishment period and dry spells. Mulching with pine needles or acidic compost helps maintain soil acidity and moisture. Pruning lightly after flowering helps to maintain its shape and encourages dense growth.

Soil: Well-drained, acidic soil enriched with organic matter.

Soil: Well-drained soil. If you have clay soils, use mounds to plant into to facilitate drainage. Be sure to use a native soil mix when planting. Exotic potting mix or exotic fertiliser will kill them. 
Conditions: Full sun. These plants are coast and drought tolerant and tolerate light frost.
