Grown for the bronze foliage, Haloragis erecta Wellington Bronze is a hardy perennial from New Zealand which adds a beautiful contrast to the garden. It has small, deep bronze, saw-toothed leaves and in summer, it has abundant sprays of greenish-yellow flowers the size of a pinhead. Best if given a light prune halfway through the season to keep it compact and tidy. Ideal for courtyard gardens, borders and beds.

Silver Cloud Callistemon is a compact, dense shrub admired for its striking silver-grey foliage, highlighted by plum-toned new growth. In spring, it produces clusters of sweetly scented, creamy yellow bottlebrush flowers that add soft colour and charm. Regular pruning encourages a flush of fresh silvery foliage, keeping the plant looking vibrant for months. Ideal for narrow hedging or screening, Silver Cloud also works beautifully when planted in groups as a backdrop or edging around water features.

The Zebra Plant, native to Brazil, dazzles with its striking foliage resembling the stripes of a zebra. Known for its glossy, dark green leaves adorned with white veining, it adds a tropical flair to indoor spaces. While it's primarily grown for its foliage, it infrequently produces tubular flowers with yellow bracts.  In its natural habitat, it can grow up to 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide, but as a houseplant, it remains more compact. Regular pruning after flowering encourages bushier growth and provides cuttings for propagation.

Soil: Well-drained acidic potting soil suits the Zebra Plant best.
Conditions: Thrives in warm, bright, indirect light and high humidity. Avoid extremes in moisture. It's typically grown as a houseplant in regions outside its native tropical habitat.
Size: In indoor settings, it remains compact - suitable for display in various spaces.

Adenanthos cunninghamii Lighthouse is an upright, pillar-like shrub producing small, unusual red jug-shaped flowers at the ends of branches during spring. The fine furry-like, silver-grey foliage gives a soft appearance in the garden and it is ideal as a screen, informal hedge, and for large-scale landscape projects. Light pruning after flowering will encourage strong new growth.

Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Suitable for coastal gardens. Tolerates light frost and dry spells well.

Selected for it’s upright, narrow growth habit. Acmena smithii Pencil Red is a psyllid-resistant variety of lilly pilly that shows off brilliant red-coloured new growth. Dainty cream flowers are produced in spring, attracting birds and beneficial insects. Pencil Red is a fantastic shrub for hedging, borders, topiary and screening. The naturally dense compact growth habit means pruning is not required unless a certain size or shape is wanted.

Soil: Grows well in most soils.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Pencil Red are hardy against drought, salty air and not prone to disease. Frost tolerant once established.
Size: Height 2.5-4m x width 1-1.5m

Acmena Cheeky Merlot is an extremely compact shrub with a neat, dense growth habit. With lovely deep burgundy to red new growth throughout the growing season, the foliage matures to deep green. Cheeky Merlot is the perfect choice for mid-size hedging solutions or as a feature plant in native or wildlife-friendly garden designs. It can be pruned to a desired shape and size; however, pruning is rarely required due to the natural compact habit.
