Callistemon Western Glory produces an abundance of nectar-rich, rose-pink flowers with a soft hint of lilac. These striking bottlebrush blooms appear in profusion from late spring through summer, with occasional spot flowering in autumn. The flowers are highly attractive to nectar-feeding birds and beneficial insects. This hardy, large shrub is well suited to informal hedging and screening, where its colourful floral display and dense growth create an attractive garden feature. Prune after flowering to encourage strong new growth and maintain a tidy, bushy habit.

Corymbia maculata - Spotted Gum - is a large native tree with a tall, straight trunk with a beautiful mottled camouflage appearance as old bark sheds in summer. Foliage is dark green and glossy with small, fragrant white flowers right through autumn and winter. The blossoms produce good quality pollen for bees, nectar for honeyeaters, and leaves are favoured by koalas. Excellent for screening, shade, or as a specimen tree, revegetation and koala habitat. Good paddock tree as the thick bark resists gnawing.

Conditions: Full sun. Stake and protect from strong winds until the plant is established. Can be frost tender in prolonged frost sites. Tolerant of most Australian climates.

Callistemon viminalis ‘LJ1’ PBR Better John™ is a compact native shrub that builds on the popularity of Little John, offering improved vigour and resilience. One of the outstanding ferns for the garden is Asplenium australasicum - Crow's Nest Fern. If you would like to create a tropical or jungle look, this is the plant for you. Asplenium australasicum sends out large fronds from a central point, making a superb nest-shaped plant - hence the name. They make excellent feature plants in the garden in a shaded rockery or beneath large trees. The large bold foliage makes this an excellent structural plant and a mature clump can be dramatic addition to the garden. Being versatile, they can grow in trees, on rocks, in containers as well as in well-drained, moist soil. Fertilize with a liquid seaweed fertilizer in spring and again in late summer. A slow-release type in spring could also be used. Plants should be kept moist.
