Catalpa bignonioides Nana is hardy, globe-headed cultivar propagated onto a ‘standard’ which forms a natural ‘umbrella’ shape. This grafted form of the Indian Bean Tree - as it is known - has slow-growing, dense branches forming a rounded ball of large mid-green heart-shaped leaves that turn yellow in autumn. Nana rarely flowers though long, bean-like seed pods may be produced. Useful as a small feature or for planting in streets, courtyards and other paved areas.

Campanula poscharskyana Blue is a very useful groundcovering variety forming strong colonies in even the most difficult dry areas. Making a carpet of round, dark green, heart-shaped leaves, blue star-shaped flowers appear very early in the season. After the first flush of blooms is spent the plant can be cut back hard, and it will repay this effort with another display. Campanula poscharskyana Blue likes to hang onto or over low walls or rockeries.

Quercus suber – The Cork Oak - is best known for its bark that is used to produce cork. This is a slow-growing evergreen oak that is used widely as landscaping trees across Europe as well as in Australia. This large evergreen tree is broad and rounded, with a dense spreading habit. The deep fissured bark is an added attraction, while the leaves have a distinctive ‘Holly shape’ and a mature specimen with its twisted branches is quite elegant. Native to the Mediterranean basin, this is one of the few evergreen Oak trees cultivated in Australia.
