The Acca Feijoa, or Pineapple Guava, is a dense, bushy evergreen shrub or small tree valued for both its ornamental appeal and delicious fruit. It produces small, oval, olive-green fruit in autumn and early winter with a sweet, aromatic flavour often described as a blend of pineapple, apple, and mint. Fruit is best picked when the skin turns a lighter shade of green and then left to ripen at room temperature to avoid bruising. The plant itself is highly attractive, with leathery green leaves that feature distinctive silvery undersides. In spring it produces beautiful pink-white flowers with striking large red stamens, adding ornamental interest to the garden. Allo Feijoa is very versatile in the landscape and can be grown as a single-trunked small tree, trained as an espalier along wires, or clipped into a hedge or rounded shrub.

Wisteria Longissima is a classic Japanese climber admired for its breathtaking racemes of pale lavender to mauve flowers that can reach up to 1 metre in length! Blooming in spring, often on bare stems, the sweetly fragrant flowers create a stunning curtain of colour before the lacy green foliage emerges. As autumn arrives, the leaves turn a glowing golden yellow, ensuring year-round appeal. This hardy and vigorous vine is ideal for training over pergolas, arches, fences, or verandahs, where it will form a spectacular seasonal display. Strong support is essential to accommodate its growth and long flower clusters. To keep your wisteria in shape and promote abundant flowering, prune the long, thin shoots in winter.

The Cherry Laurel is a popular evergreen shrub widely used for hedging and screening due to its dense growth and lush foliage. It features long, large, glossy emerald-green leaves that create a rich and formal appearance in the garden. The plant responds well to trimming, allowing it to be shaped and maintained as a neat formal hedge or left to grow more naturally as a dense screen. The Cherry Laurel has the added advantage of being considered relatively fire-retardant due to its dense, moisture-rich foliage, making it a practical as well as attractive addition to the garden.
