The Acca Feijoa, or Pineapple Guava, is a dense, bushy evergreen shrub or small tree valued for both its ornamental appeal and delicious fruit. It produces small, oval, olive-green fruit in autumn and early winter with a sweet, aromatic flavour often described as a blend of pineapple, apple, and mint. Fruit is best picked when the skin turns a lighter shade of green and then left to ripen at room temperature to avoid bruising. The plant itself is highly attractive, with leathery green leaves that feature distinctive silvery undersides. In spring it produces beautiful pink-white flowers with striking large red stamens, adding ornamental interest to the garden. Allo Feijoa is very versatile in the landscape and can be grown as a single-trunked small tree, trained as an espalier along wires, or clipped into a hedge or rounded shrub.

Soil: Plant in well-drained soil, mulch and fertilise when planting.
Conditions: Feijoas prefer a sunny location sheltered from strong wind. This fruit tree will tolerate frost once established. Suitable for cold, temperate and sub-tropical climates.

Gardenia augusta Florida is undoubtedly the most popular of the gardenia varieties. A classic, glossy, evergreen shrub with rich green foliage and intensely fragrant, brilliant white flowers. Flowers appear in late spring and are perfect to bring inside to perfume the home. Ideal for hedges, massed planting or as a single specimen. Prune after flowering.

Conditions: Sunny, sheltered position is ideal in the warmer parts of Australia. Shelter from strong winds and exposed sites.

Midnight Rose heuchera produces a neat foliage clump noted for its striking dark purple to almost black leaves that are speckled with contrasting rose pink spots. During summer heuchera come in their full flowering display with creamy white spires of choral bells, creating a lovely sense of movement with the breeze. Ideal for garden beds, rockeries, mass planting and containers.

Soil: Well-drained yet moist but will tolerate a range of soil conditions.
Conditions: Dappled Sunlight through trees and shrubs but will tolerate more sun exposure in cooler regions. Will tolerate and thrive in hot humid conditions as well as cooler climates

The Autumn Blaze maple tree - Acer x freemanii Jeffersred - is a large, showy deciduous tree suited for public spaces, avenue plantings, and medium to large properties. Stunning vibrant green, maple-shaped leaves in summer months, turn a deep red in the autumn, providing an expansive show of colour. It makes an excellent shade tree and is perfect as a statement piece in large parks. The leaves are toxic to livestock so it is not suitable for grazing paddocks.

Acer palmatum Seiryu is the only upright-growing cultivar in the Dissectum Group of Japanese maples. This attractive small tree features delicate, laceleaf foliage that transitions from yellowish-gold to crimson in autumn. Ideal for protected courtyards and small gardens. Its light green new growth offers a striking contrast against the older foliage, making it a standout selection for any garden.

Conditions: Prefers part shade and in a protected area from hot winds. Frost tolerant.

The Cherry Laurel is a popular evergreen shrub widely used for hedging and screening due to its dense growth and lush foliage. It features long, large, glossy emerald-green leaves that create a rich and formal appearance in the garden.
