Leucospermum glabrum x tottum Carnival Red

Meet Carnival Red — the garden’s answer to fireworks with roots. This dense-growing leucospermum turns heads with soft mid-green foliage and an explosion of vivid red pincushion flowers throughout spring. Bright, bold and impossible to ignore, it brings serious colour and texture to garden beds, feature plantings and statement pots alike. Use it as a striking feature shrub, plant en masse for maximum impact, or shape it into a vibrant hedge or border. The nectar-rich blooms are also a magnet for birds and pollinators — and they make exceptional long-lasting cut flowers indoors too.

Soil: Well-drained soil. If you have clay soils, use mounds to plant into to facilitate drainage. Be sure to use a native soil mix when planting. Exotic potting mix or exotic fertiliser will kill them. 
Conditions: Full sun. Coast and drought tolerant. Will tolerate a light frost.
