Evergreen Plants

A dwarf Imperial Mandarin is a robust tree that gives a vigorous amount of mandarins that ripen from June onwards. It produces fragrant creamy-white flowers followed by medium-sized orange fruit. The skin is easy to peel, and the flesh is very juicy and delightfully strong-scented. The dwarf variety is ideal to grow in tubs, espaliered, courtyards or balcony areas if placed in a warm sunny position.

Soil: Well-drained soil
Conditions: Full sun. Protect from strong winds during flowering or while the fruit is forming. Light frost, humidity and coastal tolerant.

Pennisetum Purple Fountain Grass is a graceful ornamental grass, with lovely soft, flowing, purple-tinted foliage. From early summer masses of rich purple coloured flower plumes are displayed. This exotic plant looks best when given space to sway and move in the breeze, making a relaxing sound. Fertilise with a slow release once a year in spring. Prune back every few years to encourage new growth.

Soil: Prefers moist, fertile loam to clay loam soils with good drainage, but is tolerant of periods of poor drainage.
Conditions: Best foliage colour develops in full sun, although it will also tolerate part shade. Hardy and versatile, it is drought, coastal, humid, wind and mildly frost tolerant.
