The Washington Navel is a popular backyard orange grown in Australia. This small to medium tree forms a rounded shape with glossy leaves and small, richly scented white flowers. The sweet, seedless orange matures in early winter; it is easy to peel and holds on the tree for several months. This tree is perfect for the home orchard supplying tasty, seedless oranges in mid-winter. In some coastal areas, excessive summer fruit drop results in poor harvests so Washington Navel is a better choice for inland gardeners.
