Yellow Strawberry Guava, or Psidium littorale, is a large evergreen shrub-small tree. The dense tree is covered with masses of tiny white flowers in summer and autumn, with oval yellow fruit ripening in late autumn-winter. The strawberry-tasting fruit is eaten by cutting them in half and scooping out the juicy pulp and seeds or by biting off a piece of the rind and sucking out the insides. Yellow fruiting varieties are slightly milder and a little sweeter than the red fruiting varieties and can be used in juices, syrups and jams. The tree can be grown as a garden specimen tree, in a pot, or as an edible hedge.

Soil: Adaptable to a wide range of soils.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. This species is coast and drought-tolerant and frost resistant to -5C once established.
Size: Height 3m x width 3m
