Mountain View Nursery
Banksia integrifolia Mellow Yellow
(0)
$22.00
Banksia Mellow Yellow is a striking Australian native known for its bold foliage and bright, lemon-yellow flower spikes that bring colour and wildlife activity to the garden for much of the year. Its dark green, leathery leaves contrast beautifully with the vivid blooms, which are rich in nectar and frequently attract birds, bees and butterflies. Flowering can occur through much of the year, with the most prominent displays appearing from late summer through to early spring, and often continuing during spring, autumn and winter. Its thick foliage offers shelter for small birds and beneficial insects, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. While it can reach a larger size when planted in the ground, it responds well to pruning, allowing it to be maintained as a compact shrub suitable for smaller gardens or grown as a feature plant in large pots.
Soil: Well-drained soil.
Conditions: Full sun. Coastal, salt, wind, frost, and drought tolerant.
Size: In a garden, it can grow up to 4–6m tall and 3–4m wide, but regular pruning can help maintain a smaller, more compact size, particularly in pots or small spaces.
