Cupressus sempervirens Stricta

The Italian Cypress or Cupressus sempervirens Stricta is a vigorous, evergreen, coniferous tree with a dense, pencil-like habit. This cultivar has dark green, scale-like stem-clasping aromatic leaves. The Italian Cypress can be clipped as topiary, otherwise needs little to no trimming and is a very low-maintenance tree. Stricta is the narrowest of all of the Cupressus sempervirens.


Soil: Adaptable to light sands and heavy clays but prefers well-drained soils.
Conditions: Full sun. Drought and frost tolerant. Protect from cool winds.
