Eucalyptus polyanthomos Red Box

Eucalyptus polyanthomos, or Red Box, is a medium to large, native tree suited to open spaces and broad streets. The distinctive, grey-blue-green leaves are a major part of the tree’s appeal, creating a dense, grey-coloured canopy. The tiny flower buds are produced in clusters and open to display delicate white blossoms which bees and native birds find irresistible. Suitable for planting under power lines but not on narrow nature strips.

Soil: Capable of tolerating difficult, dry stony soils.
