Dichondra repens

Dichondra Repens, also known as Kidney Weed, is a lush native groundcover perfect for creating a natural carpet in shaded areas of the garden. It is attractive between pavers and stepping stones and can be useful for steep banks and other inaccessible positions. Kidney Weed can tolerate light foot traffic so it is a good lawn substitute. Potted into tall containers and hanging baskets around the garden will allow this plant to present its natural flowing habit.

Soil: Loose-free draining soil
Conditions: Preferred aspect is full sun - it grows readily in areas up to 80% shade. Frost and coastal tolerant.
