A charming and elegant addition to any garden, Magnolia stellata Rosea is a compact, slow-growing deciduous tree or large shrub, ideal for smaller spaces. It is one of the earliest magnolias to flower, producing a breathtaking display from late winter to early spring. Masses of fragrant, star-shaped blooms appear on bare branches before the foliage emerges. The flowers open in soft light pink tones and gradually fade to white as they mature, creating a delicate and ever-changing floral display. As the flowering finishes, new leaves emerge with a subtle bronze tint before maturing into a rich, dark glossy green. In autumn, the foliage turns attractive shades of yellow to copper, adding seasonal colour before leaf fall. This variety is well suited as a feature tree in courtyards, small gardens, or near entrances, where its early flowering can be fully appreciated.

The Berzelia Buttonbush Rose is a striking architectural shrub prized for its unique texture, form, and floral display. From late winter to spring, it produces dense clusters of creamy-white flowers that gradually blush to pink and red as the season progresses. Its fine, pine-like foliage and soft green stems provide year-round interest, making it as beautiful in the garden as it is in a vase. A favourite among florists and garden designers, Berzelia Rose shines in mixed garden beds, native landscapes, or container displays. When growing in pots, use a native potting mix and fertiliser, and ensure the container has excellent drainage—Berzelia dislikes sitting in water.

Wisteria Rosea is a hardy Japanese Wisteria that will create a beautiful focal point with lightly scented, pendulous racemes of long flowers that can grow anywhere between 50cm and 1m. The Rosea is also sometimes known as the Wisteria Honbeni. Rosea bears a riotous mass of soft pink flowers tinged with lavender in early spring and produces spectacular autumn foliage colour. This hardy wisteria is a fast grower so it’s ideal for covering pergolas or arbours and providing much-needed shade over the summer months. 

Soil: Moist and well-drained soil. This species will also tolerate clay and sandy soils.
Conditions: Full sun to part shade. Frost hardy and wind-tolerant.

Regarded as one of the most popular mauve hybrid tea bushes, Blue Moon rose has large, beautifully scented, lavender-blue blooms on long slender stems. This is a hardy, upright tea bush with a neat growth habit, blooming singly or in clumps. It is suitable as a cut flower, for exhibitions or in the garden and prefers warmer sites.
