A vigorous, upright tree with an open canopy, Chandler begins producing meaningful crops in around 2–3 years, with heavy harvests ripening mid to late season. Chandler Walnut is the world’s leading walnut variety, prized for its consistently high yields and premium-quality nuts. Late to leaf and bloom, it helps avoid frost damage and produces large, well-sealed walnuts with extra-light, excellent kernels. Nuts are medium to large, smooth, oval-shaped, and crack cleanly in half, delivering one of the highest kernel yields of any variety. Partly self-fertile, but planting more than one tree will improve pollination and boost yields.

Hazelnut Wanliss Pride is a vigorous, high-performing deciduous tree renowned for producing abundant crops of large, round hazelnuts with rich brown shells and excellent flavour. The nuts develop in attractive clusters and are perfect for eating fresh, roasting, or using in a wide range of sweet and savoury recipes. Its lush deep green foliage creates a dense, attractive canopy throughout spring and summer before transforming into warm golden autumn tones, adding seasonal beauty to the garden. In late winter, the tree produces both male catkins and small female flowers. Although both flower types are present on the same tree, they bloom at different times, so planting a compatible pollinator such as Cosford, Lambert, or Red Aveline will ensure the best nut production.
Soil: Humus rich, well-drained, well-worked soil. Keep soil moisture up.
Conditions: Sunny position. Prefers mild summers and cool winters (temperate climate). Light frost tolerance.

Hazelnut Barcelona is a vigorous, fruiting bush with large, deeply veined, lance-shaped, green leaves and massed clusters of elongated creamy yellow male catkins and small, magenta, spider-like female flowers in winter. The blossoms are followed by edible, high-quality, delicious nuts encased in slightly elongated shells in late summer and autumn. Whilst Barcelona is self-pollinating, it is recommended to plant two different varieties for satisfactory fruiting. Barcelona can be eaten fresh or cooked.
Soil: Well-drained soil.
