Originating from the famous Knott's Berry Farm in California, the superb hybrid Rubus ursinus x. idaeus Boysenberry is a complicated cross between a blackberry, loganberry, dewberry and raspberry! It is vigorous and a prolific cropper. White flowers in early spring are followed by large firm conical dark purple blackberries. The fruit is round to oblong in shape and dark purple in colour. They have a unique flavour that combines the tartness from good old-fashioned wild blackberries with a sweet hint of raspberry. Train on wires as you would raspberries, as a fan, or even over an arch. Prune after harvesting in summer or autumn, by cutting the fruited canes down to the ground. When the new canes start growing the following spring and summer, tie them onto their supports. Self-fertile

Red Delicious apple trees produce excellent crops of bright red, large, and crunchy apples. The flesh is greenish-white with a crisp texture, making them perfect for enjoying straight off the tree. These apples are medium to large in size, with a medium sweetness and juicy, highly aromatic flesh. The skin ranges from crimson to dark red, and they are typically harvested in February. Skip your trip to the grocery store and invest in your own Red Delicious Apple tree! This tree also produces long, slender stems with elliptic deep green leaves that transform into beautiful autumn colours. For optimal fruit quality, annual pruning is required once the foliage drops in winter. This encourages a stronger branching framework, better airflow through the canopy, and overall improved fruit quality.

Lambert Hazelnut produces a prolific crop of excellent quality, large-size nuts with a sweet flavour. Lambert is perhaps one of the heaviest cropping varieties. Hazelnut trees flower in winter with both male and female flowers on the same tree. As they tend to flower are different times, two varieties are needed for successful pollination - Cosford, Red Adeline or Wanliss Pride are recommended. Grown mainly for the nuts, hazelnut trees are perfect as ornamental trees and sometimes - as they tend to sucker - as a fruiting hedge. Lambert hazelnuts are ideal for roasting, blanching or eating fresh off the tree.
