Punica granatum Wonderful Pomegranate

A vigorous and productive Mediterranean fruiting plant suitable for growing in drier parts of the garden, Wonderful Pomegranate is famous for its rich red colour and piquant flavour. The fruit can be eaten as fresh fruit or juiced, and the seeds of this variety are less woody than others. Water during fruiting to improve quality and fruit set. Plants are self-fertile although the fruit yield can be improved with cross-pollination.

Soil: Plant in a free-draining soil as trees dislike waterlogging.
Conditions: Pomegranates grow well in areas with cold winters and hot, dry summers. Drought tolerant once established, pomegranates will also tolerate coastal conditions and frost.
