Deciduous Trees and Shrubs

Betula Moss White is a variation of the famous Silver Birch tree, known for its radiant white bark and elegant, drooping branches. The tree's fine, bright green foliage takes on a luminous pale yellow hue in autumn, creating a lovely softness to the tree. To showcase the stately white trunks and branching structure, consider planting it in groups or avenues. When pruning, it's important to do it in summer or autumn, and avoid pruning in winter or spring to prevent profuse 'bleeding'.

Soil: This tree thrives in moist, well-drained soil. Keep in mind that birches have shallow roots, so make sure to provide adequate watering during summer.
Conditions: The tree prefers to be planted in areas with sun to part-shade. It can tolerate short periods of wet and dry, and can withstand frost and coastal environments. However, it's important to protect it from hot winds.

Shiro Noda Japanese Wisteria is an exquisite, flowering climber with drooping racemes up to 60cm in length. Deliciously scented, pure white blooms hang in pendulous clusters providing a striking waterfall of colour and drama. The popular deciduous climber with dark green, pinnate leaves is widely used to cover pergolas, ramble over trellis, train as a standard or trail over retaining walls.

Wisteria Royal Purple is the most fragrant and has the darkest purple flowers of all wisteria. In spring, abundant, weeping tresses packed with sweetly fragrant violet-purple pea-like flowers provide amazing visual and sensory appeal in the landscape. A long-lived twining vine that wraps itself around posts, trellises, rails and other structures, Royal Purple can also be trained as a single or multi-trunk tree. Correct pruning is beneficial to keep this beautiful climber under control and producing magnificent flowers year after year.

Prunus avium Lapins cherry is a late-maturing cherry tree with a bright appearance. This cherry is an excellent bearer and grower of juicy, large dark red to mahogany fruit. Self-pollinating and compact in size Lapins makes an ideal addition to any home garden. The fruit has a mild, sweet flavour and is well-suited for eating fresh and in cooked preparations. Its compact size makes this fruit tree an excellent choice for the backyard

Melia azedarach White Cedar is a fast-growing tree with an attractive, densely foliaged, rounded crown. Native to north-eastern Australia, it is one of the few deciduous Australian natives. Glossy new foliage emerges in spring, accompanied by clusters of showy, fragrant lilac flowers. These are followed by hard, yellow-orange, bead-like fruits that persist on the tree well into autumn. While the fruit is poisonous to humans and some animals, it provides an important food source for birdlife. White Cedar makes an excellent specimen tree and is ideal for use as a shade or avenue tree in larger landscapes.

Soil: The White Cedar will grow in most soil types but does prefer well-drained soil.
Conditions: Full sun or part-shade. They are drought tolerant, able to cope with frost (to -8C) and can grow on the coast making them very durable and versatile

Physocarpus Monlo Diabolo™, commonly known as Diabolo™ Ninebark, is a captivating deciduous shrub prized for its stunning, dark purple foliage. Its rich colouration makes it an excellent choice for creating striking contrasts in garden landscapes, whether planted individually, in groups, or as hedges or borders. This cultivar is particularly valued for its ornamental appeal and versatility in various garden settings.
