Pyrus Cleveland Select is a striking ornamental pear valued for its naturally symmetrical, upright pyramidal form and exceptional seasonal colour. One of the hardier Callery Pear selections, it requires little to no pruning to maintain its elegant shape, making it a low-maintenance choice for gardens and landscapes. In spring, the tree is covered in masses of crisp white blossoms that create a spectacular floral display before giving way to dense, glossy dark green foliage. A famous old English plum, Coe’s Golden Drop has clear yellow skin and gorgeous, sweetly-flavoured yellow flesh. It can be kept in the refrigerator for more than a week, which is unusual for plums. Delicious eaten straight off the tree, Golden Drop is great for stewing, pies, pastries and jams. It does need a pollinator to set fruit, such as Green Gage, D’Agen, or Angelina. It will require annual pruning once the foliage has dropped in winter.
