Citrus Key Lime, or Mexican Lime, is a small, thorny evergreen tree with glossy, aromatic foliage and fragrant white flowers appearing in spring or early summer. It produces small, round limes with thin skin and juicy, intensely acidic flesh. Usually harvested green, the fruit turns yellow when fully ripe and is prized for its distinctive flavour, making it perfect for drinks, desserts and cooking. Easily pruned to maintain a compact size, Key Lime is ideal for smaller gardens and containers.
