Prunus domestica Sugar Plum Dwarf is a popular plum variety producing small elongated, oval fruit with deep red skin and sweet, yellow flesh. Its dwarf size makes it ideal for smaller gardens, pots, or urban spaces, while still delivering a generous harvest. In early spring, the tree produces beautiful white blossoms, adding ornamental value before the fruit develops. The fruit is perfect for stewing, preserving jams, cooking or eating fresh from the tree. The late-blooming Sugar Plum is a semi-clingstone and is considered partially self-fertile. It will benefit from pollinators such as Damson, and Prune Robe de Sergeant. Prune the tree when planting to encourage new growth. Once mature, it will require little pruning.
