Mandevilla Laxa (syn. suavoelens) Chilean Jasmine. Attractive fast growing semi-deciduous climber with a long-lasting display of white, scented blooms in the summer. Ideal for covering structures in warm, protected gardens. Caution: Harmful if eaten! Position: Prefers a warm site with moist, fertile, free draining soil and protection from hot afternoon sun. Provide support for climbing. Tolerates light frost once established. Care: Water after planting until established and during dry periods. Light pruning after flowering will enhance plant shape. Planting: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so the soil level is the same as the surrounding ground.
