Isolepsis cernua, or Fibre Optic Grass, is an evergreen herbaceous annual or perennial with very narrow, thread-like leaves that will add a textural element to wherever it is planted. The soft green mound is highlighted by tiny white flowers at the tips of the leaves making it obvious why the common name of Fibre Optic Grass is used. It can be grown as a marginal plant beside a pond, or even partly submerged in water. Isolepis also grows well in a pot, and will look wonderful in a novelty pot where it can mimic hair.
