Hydrangea Tea Time™ Red is a compact, naturally neat shrub with a well-branched structure and sturdy stems. Throughout spring and summer, it produces abundant mophead blooms in striking shades of deep pink to red, forming medium clusters at the ends of branches and standing out beautifully against lush, deep green foliage. Flower colour varies with soil pH — in acid soils, the blooms of Tea Time Red take on mauve to purple tones, while in alkaline conditions they become bright pink to red. Use Hydrangea Blueing or Pinking fertiliser regularly to enhance or adjust the flower colour as desired.
Perfect for mass planting, hedging, or growing in containers. Also ideal for patios or as an indoor decorative feature. Prune in late winter to maintain shape and encourage strong new growth for even more blooms in the following season.
Soil: Well-drained, humus-rich soil. Requires soil to be kept moist.
Conditions: Prefers morning sun and afternoon shade, however, they do not do well in heavy shade. Frost tolerant when mature.
