Boronia Plum Bells is a dainty native flowering shrub with evergreen aromatic leaves. From late winter through spring, Plum Bells displays masses of beautiful, fragrant plum-coloured star-shaped flowers. The boronia makes a stunning specimen shrub and looks incredible when planted en masse. A prune once flowering has finished will help give the plant shape and encourage new growth, and feed with a slow-release native fertiliser and fresh mulch.
Soil: A gravelly, humus-rich soil which is well drained. The boronia loves a cool root run, which can be ensured with a good layer of mulch. A large rock or two will also help.
Conditions: Full sun to dappled shade. Good air circulation is important. Drought, coastal and light frost tolerant.
