A tall, spreading shrub, the Banksia Red Dawn features dark green leaves with a leathery texture and slightly serrated shape and brown buds. From March to August, the buds open to vibrant burgundy cylindrical-shaped flowers up to 30cm long, with hints of yellow and pink. As with all banksia, these beautiful flowers are an important food source for birds and insects and last well as a cut flower.
