Banksia grossa, originating from Western Australia, grows to a small shrub and bears bronze or golden brown coloured flowers between March and September. The flowers produce a lot of nectar, and attract a variety of insects and other animals in their native habitat. These evergreen plants are ideal for coastal gardens, flower gardens, as borders, screening and adding a splash of vibrant colour to the landscape. Banksias are phosphorus-sensitive, so a good native fertiliser is best at feeding time.
