Malus domestica Monty's Surprise Apple
$84.00
Malus Monty's Surprise was developed from a chance discovery by Mark Christensen of a mature apple tree growing in a remote area of New Zealand’s central North Island. The original tree produced exceptionally large, crisp, disease-resistant apples with outstanding flavour, forming the foundation of this versatile and rewarding variety. The fruit is extra-large with a crisp texture and delicious flavour, making it an excellent choice for fresh eating as well as cooking. Best suited to cooler climates, Monty's Surprise produces a generous harvest from March to April. Its manageable habit also makes it ideal for pots, tubs, courtyards, decks, and balconies, bringing both ornamental appeal and homegrown fruit to compact spaces.
